I'm posting this is about the material that I got at the first meeting of Business English courses 1, namely the use of words much and many, a few and a little, and the use of various articles (a, an, and the).

The use of words much and many ...

Much is used for nouns that can not be calculated (uncountable), and is generally used in negative statements and sentences question. Example:

1. Much more rice = rice

2. Much much milk = milk

3. Much coffee = more coffee

In the example above, the object objects such as rice, coffee or milk is the thing that does not count the number (because it is impossible to count the rice, coffee or milk a single one)

While many are used for nouns that can be calculated (countable), and is often used in negative statements and sentences said. Examples:

1. Many people = more people

2. Many desks = lots Desk

3. Many chairs = more seats

Objects objects like people, tables or chairs are things things that we can count them.

Use a few or a little ..

"A few" which means that some are used to state things are positive, where a few used for plural nouns that can be calculated. Like: "wish you would stay here a few days".

"A little" which means little used also to express things that are positive, where a little used before singular nouns that can not be counted. Like: "Please give me a little bread".

The use of article a, an, and the ... ..

Articles a, an, and the has the same meaning. Same as having the meaning "one" are like a, a, a etc. depending on the words that follow.

Articles "a" is used when the object (noun) that follows behind when pronounced consonant sounds, such as for example a cat, a dog and so on.

Articles "an" is used when the object (noun) that follows behind when pronounced vowel sounds, like an hour (to the pronunciation of our), an umbrella.

Article "the" used to say something more specific. The word "the" usually refers to the object / noun that has been mentioned previously. For example:

"He is study at the school of art". School of art here is more specifically explained the school where he studied.

"He is study at Gunadarma University". In this sentence should not use the article "the" because of where he learned not specifically set forth.

The following are the usage rules:
